Heavy-duty epoxy resin adhesive and joint mortar 1-20 mm

CERAfix 515 is used to bond ceramic tiles and slabs to create coverings in areas exposed to chemical and mechanical stress.

(e.g. commercial kitchens, laboratories, swimming pools etc.) For grouting ceramic tile and slab coverings.

Notice

Abrasive wear and tear during use can scratch the surfaces, particularly visibly on dark shades. The functionality is not affected by this. We recommend regular maintenance of the surfaces with suitable cleaning and care products to maintain the surface quality and finish during use.

At low temperatures it is recommended to heat up the material to approx. +50 °C before using in the water bath and then allowing to cool to room temperature. This restores the working properties.

Low object temperatures increase the consumption. The material therefore loses its good workability and reaction times lengthen.

High temperatures shorten the working time. CERAfix 515 is classified according to GefStoffV (German Ordinance on Hazardous Substances).

Slight differences in colour are unavoidable due to different production methods and variations in raw materials. The same production method must be used for delimited area sections (same batch number of the delivery bundle).

Contaminated washing water with a maximum concentration of 5 % resin mixture is subject to AVV code 20 01 30 as municipal waste.

Applicable regulations

The planning, checking of surfaces and structural conditions, laying, grouting and later maintenance of the installation must take place in accordance with the relevant DIN standards and recognised technical regulations (e.g. the ZDB information sheets from the Fachverband des deutschen Baugewerbes e.V. (German Construction Industry Association)) in their respective currently valid versions.

Instructions
  • The surfaces to be treated must be dry, firm, load-bearing and non-slip. Free from loose and adhesion-reducing substances.

  • Component B is added completely into component A.

  • Both component are mixed together with an agitator at max. 300 rpm.

  • The hardener must be homogeneously and evenly distributed. The mixture must be removed and stirred through again before application.

Bonding of tiles and slabs:

  • Apply CERAfix 515 coarsely with a smoothing trowel and evenly comb through with a notched trowel.

  • The tiles and slabs are placed by sliding them and pressing them in.

  • Laying is carried out according to DIN 18157, Part 3.

  • Bonding that is largely free of cavities is required outdoors!

Grouting:

  • The CERAfix 515 is applied to the surface in sections and then with an epoxy grouting float.

  • The joints must be filled fully.

  • Pull away the excess material with the epoxy grouting float diagonally to the joint run and remove.

  • Emulsify the material residues with water and hydro sponge float and then clean with clean water. Material and washing water residues must be avoided.

  • A little WÜRTH BMF cleaner can be added to the water for the final clean.

Reworking damaged cement joints:

  • The joint depth must be min. 3 mm.

  • Re-adhere loose tiles with CERAfix 515.

  • The joints must be dry and free from dust and substances that impair adhesion.

  • Emulsify material residues on the covering surface and the joints with water and hydro sponge float and then clean with clean water. Material and washing water residues must be avoided.
