- The shape of the disc spring provides optimal friction locking while simultaneously ensuring mechanical interlock via the inclined serration.
It makes sense in many cases – primarily when using short screws and loads which are vertical to the screw axis – to prevent the connection loosening by using lock washers to supplement the pre-tensioning force.
