The Power PLUS mounting tape is a transparent, 1 mm thick, double-sided adhesive tape made of acrylate adhesive. The clear material makes the tape ideal for bonding transparent materials or for applications where coloured bonding is not desired.
The soft, supple adhesive tape has a sealing effect and offers excellent adaptability to the surfaces to be bonded. Stress-free bonding of entire smooth and textured surfaces. Ideal for a wide range of applications and materials with high surface energy, such as metals, wood, concrete, glass, polycarbonate, ABS, hard PVC, PMMA etc.
Not recommended for use on low-energy materials such as PE, PP, powder coatings, Teflon® or hard-to-glue surfaces, for example, PA, rubber, silicone, soft PVC, EPDM etc. Adhesion may be impaired on painted surfaces.
Clean the surfaces to be bonded. Sanding the surface slightly may improve adhesion. Always thoroughly remove any sanding dust before bonding. The surface must be free of dust and grease before applying.
Apply the Power PLUS mounting tape to the first part to be bonded, gently pulling the adhesive tape tight. Avoid air pockets. Maximum bonding power is only achieved under optimum application conditions.
Press the tape onto the first part to be bonded with the press-on roller (art. no. 0693 011 756) to at least 20 N/cm2. Remove the protective film and apply the second part to be bonded. Caution: When removing, do not grasp the tape; remove the protective film in a single piece. Apply the second part to be bonded immediately after removing the protective film and press it on to at least 20 N/cm2. Avoid air pockets and ensure correct positioning, as it will no longer be possible to remove again due to the high adhesive force. The final adhesive force is achieved after approx. 48 hours at room temperature. The bond must not be load-bearing until this time. For more information, please refer to the technical data sheet!
