PLA filament is one of the most important materials in the field of FDM 3D printing. PLA is made from renewable raw materials such as maize starch and is therefore classed as a biocompatible plastic. Even though PLA is not as heat-resistant as other materials like ABS, it has a number of other advantages such as less warping during the printing process. PLA is an ideal entry-level filament and can be processed easily by any standard 3D printer.
