This tool steel has medium machinability, high toughness, marked resistance to wear at high temperatures and favourable resistance to thermal shock. In addition, it has favourable properties with respect to erosion, polishing and nitrifying. This makes the steel ideal for mould plates and mould inserts for plastic injection moulding tools, hot-flow compression moulding dies, extrusion dies, mould compression dies, billet containers, die casting tools, light metal die casting, press mandrels, press die plates, piercers, screw production, rivet production, bolt production, extractors, plastic moulds.
