In accordance with EN 16005/DIN 18650, which describes the safety requirements for automatic door systems, a risk assessment (taking into account the user group of the doors and the local construction situation) must be carried out. This forms the basis for selecting a number of different safeguards. The risk assessment must be carried out at the planning stage to ensure that the automatic door system can be safely installed and operated.
The door must be equipped with an electric opener and bar switching contact or a motor lock.
For doors that open outwards, a suitable floor doorstop must be installed at the max. opening to limit the door.
In order to ensure the safety of persons at all times, the system must be checked and approved by an expert before initial commissioning. The system must then be checked monthly for the first 12 months, and then every 3 months and serviced once a year if there are no functional defects. Würth offers suitable seminars for this via the Academy.
