The adhesive surfaces to be sealed must be dry, capable of bearing load and be free from grease and dust. Absorbent or porous surfaces should be pretreated with spray primer.
The connection flange is very compatible with most liquid seals. Due to the large number of possible product combinations, we nevertheless recommend you carry out preliminary tests.
The usage instructions are recommendations based on the tests we have conducted and on our experience; carry out your own tests before each application. Due to the large number of product combinations, applications and storage and processing conditions, we do not assume any liability for a specific application result. For sealing or connecting the building sealing to floor-to-ceiling window and door elements within the meaning of the "Building waterproofing guideline – connection to floor-to-ceiling window and door elements".
Carefully bond and seal the ground sills and profiles as well as the profile grooves and side openings on the window element.
Installation of flange with screw-on mounting strip:
The plastic mounting strip is pre-drilled on the butyl side. If necessary, pre-drill additional holes with an iron drill bit (drilling diameter 4 mm, screw 5 mm). Generously fill the chamfer of the strip with sealant along its entire length to ensure continuous sealing. With the fleece facing outwards, screw the flange onto the floor-to-ceiling window element, ensuring that the installation height complies with the required connection height according to Austrian standard ÖNORM B 3691.
Installation of flange with self-adhesive mounting strip:
Remove any impurities from the adhesive surfaces of the plastic rod, taking care not to damage the rod. With the fleece facing outwards, bond the plastic mounting strip onto the window profile and skirting profile, ensuring that sufficient contact pressure is applied. Installation height in coordination with the required connection height according to Austrian standard ÖNORM B 3691.
For versions with a divided (two-part) mounting strip, remove the release paper from the supplied Dehnflex butyl strip, pull the butyl strip to a suitable size and glue it over the seam between the mounting strips. If necessary, apply additional sealing to the seam and/or the connection edges with adhesive sealant.
Glue the connecting flange in the joint area cleanly, tension-free and wrinkle-free. Use the pressure roller. If necessary, fill any existing cavities with backfill material.
According to valid standards and guidelines, the sealing is usually carried out by those waterproofing the building. We recommend Würth FLK PRO 250 for liquid sealing, which is compatible with common liquid seals.
The respective processing instructions for the products used must be observed.
