Colour deviations may occur due to temperature differences, structural conditions and different ceramics, natural stone coverings. We make no guarantee with regard to colour variations.
Do not add water or fresh joint mortar to joint mortar that has already started to harden to make it processable again. Increased danger of discolouration!
In the case of polished porcelain stoneware and various natural stone coverings, colour pigments can bind themselves in the surface of the tiles in any micropores that may be present. A strong colour contrast between the tile and joint therefore is not recommended. In case of doubt, perform test grouting. Do not use a dry cloth when cleaning, as otherwise there is a risk of discolouration by rubbing dried grout into the moist joint.
The usage instructions are recommendations based on the tests we have conducted and our experience; carry out your own tests before each application. CERAfix 505 is a flexible, ductile and water-repellent joint mortar for filling joints between all absorbent and non-absorbent ceramic floor coverings, such as fine earthenware, stoneware and earthenware plates, brick tiles as well as natural stone coatings in bathrooms, showers and living areas, on terraces, balconies and loggias as well as on façades, in swimming pools, industry facilities, and for heated screed and jointless floors. CERAfix 505 joint mortar is also suitable for critical indoor and outdoor surfaces. It is characterised by easy application and good edge adhesion. The joints are completely filled and have a smooth surface. CERAfix 505 is suitable for filling joints in wall and floor tiles with a joint width of 2–25 mm.
WÜRTH CERAfix 505 corresponds to the classification CG 2 WA.
Surface:
The joints must be clean, dry, free from adhesives, mortar and separating substances. Moisten the absorbent surfaces and tiles evenly before filling the joints.
Application:
Mix joint mortar CERAfix 505 (5 kg) with 1.25 litres of clean water with a paint stirrer in a clean bucket until it has turned into a homogeneous and smooth compound. Give the product 5 minutes to mature and then stir thoroughly again. Always keep to the same mixing ratio to avoid colour differences.
Apply the product with a rubber filler/wiper or a tile jointing float in a diagonal direction until it is flush. Do not mix with other materials.
Clean the tiling with a moist sponge or a moist sponge float after having rubbed down surplus joint mortar. The joints should be cleaned in a diagonal or horizontal direction to prevent washing off the mortar and to achieve a clean joint pattern. Remove the remaining mortar streaks with the sponge float and clean water; repeat if necessary. Regularly replace the dirty water with fresh water.
The new joint filling must be protected from any influences that may affect the hardening process, such as high temperatures, direct sunlight, wind, rain, frost and subsequent moisture penetration.
