Enables reliable loosening of ultra high-strength spot weld connections
Innovative rake with a perfect balance between sharp cutting edges and high stability
Enables precise cutting even with rough spot welds or curved material
Innovative face geometry, perfectly combining the benefits of a drill bit and milling cutter
Very good tapping behaviour
Centring point with two cutting edges above centre
Little effort required
Sharp cutting edge design
Low-vibration running
Four cutting edges with extremely unequal pitch
Extremely durable and robust
Significantly longer service life compared to conventional solid carbide spot weld drill bits
AlTiN multi-layer wear protection coating
- Extremely high temperature resistance up to 950 °C
- Very hard and wear-resistant (hardness approx. 3,300 HV)
- Reduced heat input in the bodywork panel (curing, melting of the adhesive or tempering colours are avoided)
- Multi-layer structure for optimal chip removal and improved cutting properties (prevents material becoming welded)
3-flat shank for faster and more comfortable working with hand-guided drills
- No spinning in the drill chuck
- Optimal power transmission
- Protects the drill chuck from damage
- Little effort required to loosen and tighten the drill chuck
Product packaging made of 100 % PCR (recycled plastic from household waste), 100 % recyclable and Cradle to Cradle Certified® Bronze
- Not for use in pneumatic machines (e.g. Vario Drill, Spitznagel etc.)
- Do not use in drills with an impact chuck or spindles
- The right tool length for every application: The short version ensures comfortable working in confined spaces (e.g. wheel arches), while the long version ensures easy access to low-lying spot weld connections (e.g. on sills)
- The 9 mm drilling diameter ensures reliable drilling of the weld spot and of its heat input area (advantage over an 8 mm diameter). Moreover, the hole created is not so large that excessive filling is required when reinstalling bodywork parts (advantage over a 10 mm diameter)
Suitable for use in drills with three-jaw chucks
For drilling any type of material connection:
- Cutting spot weld connections
- Trimming rivet connections
- Cutting individual layers
- Trimming friction welding elements
- Trimming flow-hole screws
- Solid carbide is extremely hard, making it very brittle and prone to breaking if not handled correctly
- Step 1: Remove the protective cap. Clamp the drill cutter on the triangular shank. Check the concentricity.
- Step 2: Place the drill cutter in the centre of the spot weld without applying pressure and run at full rotation speed
- Step 3: When full rotation speed is reached, fully immerse in the spot weld
- Step 4: Allow the drill cutter to rotate when pulling it out
- Avoid hard contact with the material to be drilled, side impacts or dropping the drill cutter under all circumstances
- The use of coolant/lubricant is not necessary
