Ideal solution for precise dry drilling in concrete, reinforced concrete, steel-reinforced concrete, calcium silicate block and masonry - entirely without water.
  • Developed for soft-impact diamond drills (1.8 to 2.5 kW).

  • An indispensable solution for demanding drilling work in concrete.

  • Particularly suitable for sensitive locations where the use of water is not possible or is undesirable.

  • Impressive versatility - a single core drill bit for almost all materials and a wide range of applications and challenges.

  • High drilling speed enables efficient working and saves valuable time on every project.

  • Innovative short tooth technology with 12 mm high, laser-welded segments ensures robust and long-lasting performance, even when subjected to heavy use.

  • The 300 mm working length provides ample scope for deeper bores without compromising performance and is perfectly suitable for over 90 % of applications.

  • Enables clean and dust-free drilling.

  • Ideal for building renovations and work in sensitive areas.

  • Free of cobalt and nickel.
Notice
  • Never drill without soft impact function (except when drilling a pilot hole).

  • Never apply excessive pressure.

  • Always use a vacuum cleaner when drilling, required vacuum cleaner is the ISS 40-M AUTOMATIC industrial wet and dry vacuum cleaner, art. no. 07011430 or comparable.

  • Never drill without wearing suitable personal protective equipment.

Suitable power tools

  • For best results: Würth DS 162, art. no. 5709 116 05 in conjunction with drill stand, art. no. 5709 116 16.

  • Highly suitable: Eibenstock ESD162, WEKA DKS15, AGP DD62, Baier BDB825 or BDB829, CARDI DPH 2200.

  • Suitable (reduction of core drill bit service life): WEKA DKS32, CARDI DPH3000 or DP3500.

Dry drilling in concrete with soft impact - a brief summary

  • Clean holes without water - even in heavily reinforced concrete.

  • Only slightly slower than wet drilling.

  • Shorter core drill bit service life (depending on the material: aggregates, abrasives, iron, approx. 1/3 to 50 % less when compared with wet drilling).

  • Higher noise levels - hearing protection is required.

  • Danger of drill core breakage and clogging with diameters ≤ 102 mm.

  • Core drill bit/drill core can become hot - caution is advised when loosening/removing.

Application area
  • Ideal for dry drilling in virtually all types of hard masonry materials such as concrete, reinforced concrete, steel-reinforced concrete, calcium silicate block (even high-density types up to a bulk density of 2.8), masonry, vertically perforated brick and bricks etc.

  • Perfect for installations, renovations and sensitive areas such as hospitals and server rooms, even during ongoing operations.

  • The ideal core drill bit for building services technicians.

  • Suitable for both indoor and outdoor use and perfect for construction projects, renovations and installations.
Instructions
  • Select the correct diamond drill - with soft impact (no hammer function)

  • Set the appropriate speed (RPM) for the core drill bit (diameter).

  • Begin drilling without soft impact (1 cm to 2 cm), then switch on soft impact.

  • Use a suitable and professional vacuum cleaner (class M at least) - switched on, clean filter, straight hose without kinks.

  • We recommend stand-guided drilling: Securely mount the drill stand - test before drilling by shaking.

  • Wear suitable personal protective equipment (goggles, hearing protection, gloves, safety shoes).

  • Start drilling carefully - apply light pressure while working.

  • Reduce pressure when coming into contact with metal - drill carefully and consult the structural engineer beforehand.

  • Check the vacuum cleaner regularly - stop drilling and clean the vacuum if there is a warning indicator.

  • If the drilling progress stops, stop drilling - check the core drill bit for clogging.

  • Sharpen with a suitable whetstone as soon as the drilling performance decreases.
