The TiN anti-wear coating increases the surface hardness to approx. 3,500 HV. Titanium-aluminium nitride is a chemical compound of the three elements titanium, aluminium and nitrogen. TiAlN is a hard metallic material typically of a black-violet colour. Advantages: The TiAlN coating enables the dry processing of cutting tools; cooling is not necessary.
