The information in the data provided is based on our current knowledge and experience. Due to the many possible influences during processing and application of our products, this information does not release the user from the obligation to perform their own inspections and tests, and it does not contain any guarantee of properties or suitability of the product for a particular purpose. It is the responsibility of the user to determine the process capability of their 3D printer and to conduct tests for their use cases using our materials. The values refer to test specimens generated from the semi-finished product and not to values based on printed test specimens.
TPU 85A (thermoplastic polyurethane with a Shore hardness of 85A) is a flexible elastomer material for FDM/FFF 3D printing that is distinctly rubbery and elastic, while offering the characteristic advantages of TPU, such as high restorative properties, excellent impact resistance and outstanding abrasion resistance. Compared to harder types of TPU such as 65D, TPU 85A is much softer and more elastic, making it particularly suitable for components that need to withstand bending, stretching or shocks. It is typically used for seals, flexible coverings, protective sleeves, cable transits, buffers and flexible clips, as well as damping and spring elements that need to be permanently elastic. The combination of elasticity and wear resistance makes TPU 85A a popular choice for components used in sport, such as shoe soles and sports equipment parts.
Additional printing guidelines
- High extruder speeds can affect printing accuracy.
- It is recommended to select the speed based on your own experience and approach the upper limit.
